The story
behind the lens
I'm Franco, I'm a whitewater kayaker, photographer, and outdoor adventurer based in the Pacific Northwest. My time outside of my day job is spent chasing rivers, road trips, storms, snow, and the moments in between. My photography comes from being fully involved in the environments I'm shooting and not just standing on the outside looking in. I care just as much about the shuttle ride, campfire, portrait, or quiet morning as I do the full send. A lot of what I shoot is about the feeling of being out there and the people who make those experiences meaningful.
I specialize in whitewater kayaking photography, wilderness landscapes, and expedition storytelling. My work has been featured in outdoor publications and hangs on walls in homes throughout the outdoors community.

The path
First rapids
Started kayaking Class II-III whitewater.
College days
Went to VCU in RVA and found the James River. Started doing more trips out east and really dialing in my skills in a boat.
First expedition
Completed a self-supported kayak expedition on the Royal Gorge of the North Fork American River
Capstone expedition
Completed a 200-mile self-supported kayak expedition through remote Frank Church wilderness.
Publication features
Work featured in multiple outdoor and adventure publications. Started selling fine-art prints.
